Ahdieh (born September 21, 1949 in Tehran) is one of the singers of authentic Iranian music. She has been living with her family in Madrid, Spain since 1976. Ahdieh Badiei is an Iranian Baha’i.
Biography
Ahdieh Badiei was born in 1949 in Tehran. Also, her father is from the village of Sahzab, a subdivision of Sarab city. From the age of five or six, she used to sing in family gatherings. Finally, with the encouragement, guidance and perseverance of her mother, she entered Radio Iran and the children’s program at the age of 8. At that time, the singers of the children’s program sang the songs of the older singers, but their poems were changed and composed to suit the mood of the children.

She sang about 200 songs for children. The orchestra of the children’s program that accompanied her was made up of the best and most artistic people who cooperated for free and only for the love of this program. Including Suren, a composer who played several different instruments well: violin, banjo mandolin, piano and accordion. Varoujan, who usually played the contrabass and had a background in pop music. Manouchehr Biglari, who was a trumpet player. Andranik was a pianist and Nicol Alvandi was a jazz player.

Nicol’s daughters, Alice and Bella, were also good singers in the children’s program, as well as Sima Bina, who was older than Ahdieh. Ahdieh’s mother was not only always with her and her guide, but also wrote the lyrics of Ahdieh’s songs for the children’s program. The head of the children’s program at that time was Davood Pirnia, who also prepared the classic Golha programs on his own initiative and supervision. Davood Pirnia told Ahdieh from the same time that when she grows up, she will sing in Golha programs, and that’s what happened, that is, she performed the first Golha program (Shakheh Gol No. 328) at the age of 14. From the same age of 13-14, she started singing in another program called Javanan and sang about 30 songs for this program.

At the same time as artistic works, she also pursued her education. In the university, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In addition, she succeeded in learning solfeggio (note reading) in private music classes. Her solfeggio teacher was Ali Rahbari. Knowing the note and writing and reading it was an effective help for her in her artistic work.

One of her notable works was her collaboration with Iranian cinema, from her teenage years, her voice was accompanied by brilliant faces in Persian films, including: Forouzan, Pouri Banai, Azar Shiva, Katayoun, Frank Mirghahhari, Fariba Khatami, Jamileh, Marjan, Shahnaz Tehrani, Shorangiz Tabatabai and…

She was 19 years old when she participated in the Shiraz International Festival, named Shiraz Art Festival, as one of the best singers of Radio Iran. This festival was organized by Farah Pahlavi, the Queen of Iran, in which some of the world’s Jewish artists, including Yehudi Menuhin, also participated. Ahdieh and Mr. Abdolvahab Shahidi were selected by the Golhay Radio Iran program to perform programs in that art festival in Shiraz. Iranian programs were performed in Hafezieh and Saadieh, which were equipped and prepared for this festival.

After finishing her university studies, she served in the Sepah Danesh for two years with the rank of officer, but at the same time as her university studies and the Sepah Danesh period, she continued her artistic activities with great perseverance even in those years.

Golha programs in the National Radio of Iran, which were always performed with an orchestra in the classical music instruments of Iran, and it was a heavy task, as well as the production of various radio pop songs, or songs of Persian films, which took the most time, energy, attention and focus.

In 1976, two years before the revolution, she went to Spain and soon after that she got married and had four children (3 daughters and 1 son). Ahdieh has been living with her family in Madrid, Spain since 1976.

According to herself, she performed 55 songs in Iranian music dastgahs for Golha programs and nearly 300 songs in various styles for Radio Iran, and also more than 700 songs for Persian films (depending on the story of the films) in many styles, which until today, the name of Ahdieh has kept alive and familiar for the current generations. During her artistic activities, Ahdieh never performed in private gatherings and cabarets in Tehran.

Most of the famous and well-known composers and songwriters of the National Radio and Television of Iran collaborated with Ahdieh. Composers such as Javad Maroufi, Mehdi Khaledi, Homayoun Khorram, Anoshirvan Rouhani, Ataollah Khorram, Hassan Yousef Zamani, Hossein Vaseghi, Javad Lashkari, Manouchehr Lashkari, Hossein Samadi, Akbar Mohseni, Amir Pazouki, Farhad Fakhreddini, Emad Ram, Goodarzi; and from the poets and songwriters: Rahi Mo’ayyeri, Simin Behbahani, Bijan Taraghi, Homa Mirafshar, Rahim Moeini Kermanshahi, Abolghasem Halat, Tourj Negahban, Hedayatullah Nairsina, Reza Shamsa, Mohammad Ali Shirazi, Masoud Hooshmand, Karim Fakour, Saeed Dabiri, Nezam Fatemi, Bahador Yeganeh, Jafar Pourhashemi, Manouchehr Mo’in Afshar, Lobat Wala, Aman Manteghi can be named.

Concerts were held by Radio Iran in different countries, in which Ahdieh also performed many times, especially in countries that accepted many Iranian students, such as the United States of America and European countries, Lebanon and Afghanistan.

People in Iran’s neighboring countries such as Afghanistan and Tajikistan also knew Ahdieh through watching Persian movies and loved her songs very much.
