Saeed Roudbari, a Tonbak player, was born on December 6, 1955, in Tehran. He started playing Tonbak in 1970. In 1975, he joined the Center for Preservation and Dissemination of Music of Radio and Television. Until 1981, he was under the tutelage of استاد Morteza Ayan and benefited from his knowledge. His activities from 1981 onwards continued seriously in the fields of playing, teaching, instruction, and making Tonbak instruments. Performing live Iranian music programs with various groups and musicians throughout Iran is another of his activities. In his opinion, one of the most important developments during this time was getting acquainted with استاد Farhang Sharif, a stylish Tar player and a valuable figure in Iranian music, which has led to the honor of accompanying him in all concerts, recordings, and performances. These include the Fajr Music Festival, Enduring Figures, concerts throughout Iran in cities such as Tabriz, Urmia, Amol, Kish, Isfahan, etc. Various improvisations and accompaniments of his exist, although many of them have not yet reached the stage of public release. Other collaborations of his include those with great masters of Iranian music such as Parviz Yahaghi, Jalil Shahnaz, Fazlollah Tavakkol, Hassan Kasaei, and so on.
