Amir Naser Eftetah was born in Tehran on June 4, 1935. From childhood, he was interested in playing the Tombak (a Persian goblet drum) and started playing this instrument at the age of 12. After completing his primary education, he entered Razi School and graduated from that school. In his adolescence, Amir Naser Eftetah started learning Tombak with “Houshang Mehrvarzan” and “Hossein Tehrani” and after mastering playing, at the age of 17, with the invitation of “Davood Pirnia”, he started working with the radio and played in the “Golha Program” series. He performed numerous programs with “Akbar Golpayegani”. He participated in programs and foreign and domestic trips by the radio in order to introduce Iranian music, including traveling to countries such as: America, Germany, England, Kuwait and cities and provinces such as: Shiraz, Isfahan, Abadan, Ahvaz, Bandar Abbas, Gilan, Mazandaran and … Amir Naser Eftetah, along with artists such as: “Parviz Yahaghi”, “Farhang Sharif”, “Homayoun Khoram”, “Jalil Shahnaz”, “Majid Najahi”, “Reza Varzandeh”, “Ahmad Ebadi” and “Ali Asghar Bahari” performed music in numerous works.
He was also active in charity affairs and trained many students by opening a music class. Mohammad Esmaili, Bahman Rajabi, Morteza Ayan, Mahmoud Farahmand, Abtin Ejlali and Amir Babak Rokni were among his students. He is known as a stylish player and his method of teaching Tombak is known as “Eftetah style”.
Amir Naser Eftetah died on January 30, 1988, due to a heart attack caused by mental stress.
