Kazem Alemi is a musician, composer, and arranger in the field of Iranian pop and traditional music.
Education
Alemi went to the National Music Conservatory at the age of 12 and continued his music education with the encouragement of his father. After graduating from the Conservatory, he studied composition and conducting at the Music College. Then, with a scholarship from the National Iranian Radio and Television Organization, he went to the United States to continue his studies and studied composition at the University of Southern California.
Composition Career
His composition activity started in the late fifties and continues to this day. Alemi has composed for many famous Iranian singers, including: Moein, Mahasti, Ebi, Homeira, Shahrokh, Dariush, Mehrdad Asemani, Omid, Sattar, Shahram Solati, and many more.
Return to Iran
In 1980, he returned to Iran and performed his first concert at Vahdat Hall with the piece “Ivan Madaen” based on Khaghani’s famous ode, which he conducted for the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
Return to America
After 3 years, he immigrated to America again and formed the “Oshagh” group in Los Angeles with other friends, which performed a series of concerts in the field of traditional music for about 8 years, which no one or group had done in this land at that time.

Then he seriously started working on pop music and continues his work to this day; and he also continues to train students alongside his activities. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
