Majid Khalaj, (born November 11, 1962 in Qazvin) is an Iranian Tonbak, finger cymbals, Daf and Bass frame drum player.
He started his music career at the age of seven in Qazvin Culture House. At the age of 25, with the encouragement and introduction of Dariush Talaei, he was admitted to the Center for Eastern Music Studies at the Sorbonne University in Paris. His acquaintance and cooperation with Hossein Alizadeh in 1370 AH is considered a turning point in his artistic career.
He has collaborated with masters such as Hossein Alizadeh, Dariush Talaei, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, Hossein Omoumi, Kayhan Kalhor and Mohammad Reza Lotfi, and the result of these collaborations includes valuable works such as Homayoun Concert and Nava Concert, Cheshme Noosh, Sayeh Roshan, Sorood e Gool, Navay e Noor, Saman e Sayeh ha, etc. He is also a graduate of architecture from the Faculty of Architecture in Paris.
