Manouchehr Jahanbegloo (born August 12, 1926 in Tehran – died December 6, 1990 in Tehran) was an Iranian musician, writer and Santoor player.

Manouchehr Jahanbegloo was born on August 12, 1926 in Tehran. From the age of 14, at the request of his father, he started learning to play the Santoor with Habib Samaei and benefited from his teachings until the end of Habib Samaei’s life. After that, he entered the National Music Conservatory and continued playing the Santoor with Abolhasan Saba. Through Abolhasan Saba, he found his way to the house of Mohammad Irani Mojarad and became acquainted with many artists and benefited from them. In addition to the Santoor, Manouchehr Jahanbegloo was also familiar with playing the Setar, Tombak and Violin. In 1959, he traveled to Austria and continued his studies and studies of music in Vienna and received a doctorate in music. After returning to Iran, he started working with the radio and performed music in the “Professors Program” and Golha program. He also prepared the program “A Melody of National Music” with Asadullah Malek.

He was also interested in writing, and his first writings were published in the magazine “Niroo va Rasti”, the organ of the Niroo va Rasti sports club. He also engaged in mountaineering. In 1962, together with Gholamreza Takhti, he rushed to help the earthquake victims of Buin Zahra by passing through difficult-to-pass areas. In 1964, he was a member of the editorial board of Keyhan Varzeshi newspaper and installed the newspaper’s logo on the summit of Mount Damavand. Manouchehr Jahanbegloo published numerous articles in Keyhan and Ettela’at newspapers and Ettela’at Haftegi, Ettela’at Javanan, Ferdowsi, Faslnameye Ahang magazines, etc.
