Mohammad Ali Golshan Ebrahimi was born in 1299 in Bakhtaran (Kermanshah). From his childhood and youth, he had a great interest in the culture, literature, and especially the music of Iran. According to the research and artistic report section of ISNA, during his childhood, his older brother was learning music from the only person who knew how to play the violin, and this teacher repeatedly recommended that Mohammad Ali also learn this art, but he did not do so out of respect for his parents. During that time, Golshan Ebrahimi started collecting music records and after finishing his studies, he started working in one of the government agencies. He, who is one of the largest collectors of Iranian music audio works and a collector, had aspirations to carry out projects for the sound culture of Iran, including recovering the lost corners of ancient Iranian music. Golshan believed that in order to do this, it is necessary to use the basis of local music, especially the music of western Iran, Mazandaran, and the remnants of the Zoroastrian culture of Parsis residing in India. He carried out this project with the help of several professors of music and physics and mathematics, and in this way, with the help of professors and using the rich local music of Iran and the almost pure music of the west and north of the country, and what was transferred to India after the Sasanian Empire, he wanted to base the music on a correct and technical basis, and in this way, he prepared several thousand hours of audio works of contemporary musicians under the title of Iranian Sound Culture. Golshan finally passed away on August 13, 2001.
