Morteza Ayan was born into a family of art and music and had a great interest in traditional music since childhood. This led his father to take him to Hossein Kharsandi, who was one of the percussionists. Morteza Ayan worked with Hossein Kharsandi for more than a year, and after a while, he went to Amir Nasser Eftetah to continue his training.
At the age of about fifteen, he started working in the children’s program of the radio, but after a year, he resigned from the radio with the aim of further education and research in playing the tonbak. In 1351, at the invitation of Dariush Safvat, he went to the Center for Preservation and Dissemination of Iranian Music and collaborated with people such as Hossein Alizadeh, Jalal Zulfonon, Davood Ganje ای, Dariush Talaei, Mohammad Moghaddasi, Ms. Mani Zadeh and Razavi Sarvestani.
