Sayyed Nourredin Razavi Sarvestani was born on April 10, 1935, in Sarvestan, Fars province. At the age of 20, he started learning music in Shiraz with Moshir Moazzam Afshar. His voice was broadcast for the first time in 1958 from Shiraz Radio.
In 1957, he went to Tehran to complete his studies and benefited greatly from the presence of masters such as Morteza Mahjoubi, Ahmad Ebadi, Reza Foroutan, Soleiman Amirghasemi, Ali Akbar Shahnazi, Asghar Bahari, and Nourali Khan Boroumand. In order to expand and introduce authentic Iranian music and the correct method of singing, from 1973, in cooperation with Sheida, Samaei, Darvish, Molavi music groups, Parviz Meshkatian, Faramarz Payvar, Hossein Alizadeh, he performed many concerts in Iran and abroad. In November 1976, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in music by Baudouin, the King of Belgium.
From the beginning of the 1978 revolution until the end of the 1980s, Razavi Sarvestani was busy training students in Shiraz. After that, he went to Tehran and, while teaching singing, cooperated with some artistic centers, including the Music Center of the Ministry of Guidance, as a consultant, expert, and judge of artistic festivals. In 1999, simultaneously with the establishment of the Iranian Music House, he was elected as one of the founding members and a member of the board of directors of the first term.
