My eye sheds blood because of that bow-shaped eyebrow
The world will see much strife from that eye and that eyebrow
I am a slave of that Turk’s eye who, in sweet, drunken sleep
Has a painted flower garden for a face and a musky canopy for an eyebrow
My body has become crescent-shaped from this sorrow that with the tughra of his eyebrow
Who is the moon that will appear from the arch of the sky, the eyebrow?
The rivals are unaware, and we receive a thousand kinds of messages every moment from that eye and forehead
And a حاجب (gatekeeper) is in the middle of the eyebrow
For the reclusive souls, his forehead is a wondrous flower garden
That on the side of its jasmine field, the eyebrow wanders gracefully
No one will tell another Houri and Peri with such beauty
That this one has such an eye and that one has such an eyebrow
You, heartless infidel, do not tie the veil of your tresses, and I fear
That the arch of that heart-ravishing eyebrow will turn my mihrab
Although Hafez was a clever bird in advocacy
The arrow of coquetry, that bow-shaped eyebrow, hunted him

O you, from whom the light of the eye is brightened
O you, in whom is the serenity of the garden and flowerbed
You are the manifestation of the sun of the world-illuminating love
I am that silent candle in your presence
O eye and lamp of acquaintance
O manifestation of God’s power
Like the moon hidden behind the clouds
You do not show your face to us
You are the morning of a joyful spring
I am like the cold sunset of autumn
I am an empty cup of intoxication
You are a cup full of joy
O melody maker of love, you have taken my senses
Your voice became an earring for me
The wine of intoxication has brought me to a boil and frenzy
I have placed the tavern of existence on my shoulders
Wherever a flower bloomed with laughter
It spoke to me of your face
Like the eyes of the stars until dawn
My eyes did not sleep with thoughts of you

Come, let us scatter flowers and pour wine into the goblet
Let us tear down the sky and create a new design
If sorrow raises an army to shed the blood of lovers
The Saki and I will rush together and destroy its foundation
Let us pour ruby-colored wine and rosewater into the cup
Let us sprinkle sugar in the censer for the fragrance-spreading breeze
Since a pleasant lute is in hand, play a pleasant tune, minstrel
That we may clap our hands, sing ghazals, and stomp our heads
O breeze, scatter the dust of our existence in that high presence
Perhaps we may cast the glance of the king of beauties upon the view
One boasts of intellect, another weaves nonsense
Come, let us cast these judgments before the judge
If you desire the Garden of Eden, come with us to the tavern
That from the foot of its jar, we may one day cast it into the Pool of Kauthar
They do not practice eloquence and pleasant singing in Shiraz
Come, Hafez, that we may cast ourselves into another realm

With your memory, I am ecstatic, O heavenly beloved
Remember me while I am, O hope of life
I tell the state of my heart in a speechless language
Every smile of yours tells me not to give your heart to sorrow in this world
Sit with love until a flower grows from this autumnal night
As the light of joy shines from your gaze
My heart has شور (passion) and joy from your kindness
With you, my autumn is spring, with you I become a star-shower of light
Whatever you want, or do not want, the عاشق (lover)’s heart seeks your path in every sign
Heart and soul are ecstatic from the شوق (passion) of your gaze, I am حیران (amazed) everywhere, my eyes on your path
That with this روح‌افزایی (spirit-enhancing) beauty, like a رویایی (dreamlike) eternal paradise
What will happen if you return, like the breath, the morning breeze
Reaches me, another life, the eye کشد (pulls), پر (wing) toward you
Be my همسفر (companion), that you can
When will you open my wings with your دیدار (seeing)
When will you plant my تب و تاب (fever and glow) with your لبخند (smile)
With your memory, I am ecstatic, O heavenly beloved
Remember me while I am, O hope of life

No one bore me, God bore me, not as someone wanted

My soul and heart’s serenity is a violet field
My sweetheart is like a spring flower
My soul and heart’s serenity is a violet field
What have you done to my heart, you don’t know
Every moment my heart runs towards you
Every atom is lost in your desire
I wouldn’t give my soothing look for both worlds
Beautiful, sweet, soul’s peace
Smiling, smiling, you steal hearts
The ghazal singer, گل افشان (flower scattering) when you return
How beautifully you adorn the world
Brighter than the white morning
In my soul, a light of hope
You are like a shining star
Radiant like the sun
My heart, نگارا (beloved), has no strength left
Read us with kindness
Every moment my heart runs towards you
Every atom is lost in your desire
I wouldn’t give my soothing look for both worlds
I sit on your path that your gaze may fall on my eyes
So you can see why every moment tears of sorrow fall on my skirt
O پرنیان پوش (silken-clad) breeze
In the heart, the fire of your love will not be extinguished
Come, O beautiful one, for I have a شور (passion) in my head from your اشتیاق (desire)
