We raise a hand one night and make a prayer
We find a cure for the sorrow of your separation somewhere
The heart is sick from the hand; friends, help!
So we bring the doctor to his head and make a cure
The one who was offended without guilt and struck me with his sword and left
Bring him back; for God’s sake! So we can make amends
The root of joy has dried up, where is the way to the tavern?
So that we can grow and develop in that water and air
Ask for help from the mind of the wise, O heart! Otherwise
The task is difficult, lest we make a mistake
My heart is out of the curtain, where is Hafez’s good ear
So that we can make music and melody with his words and ghazal
