The album From Sama to Presence is a work composed and performed by Farzin Keshavarz, Hossein Khavas, Amir Molaei, Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari, and Milad Mohammadi. This collection is a project under the supervision of Ali Bahrami-fard, which includes a collection of improvisation and composition by five young players in the form of solo Santur performances.
These works have been composed in diverse playing styles and common composition forms in Iranian classical music and cover a wide range of approaches – from adherence to the structural principles of the Radif and the classical system of modal composition to contemporary and tradition-breaking processing.
In this album, works by Milad Mohammadi, Farzin Keshavarz, Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari, Amir Molaei, and Hossein Khavas in the Abu Ata, Chahargah, Rast Panjgah, Segah and Shour modes have been released.
