Hossein Parnia, santur player and composer, was born in 1350 in Khorramabad and learned to play the santur until the age of 14 in Andimeshk with Master Nedaei. In 1369, he went to military service and was trained in Malek Ashtar barracks in Dorud, Lorestan, and joined the music group of Khorramabad barracks. During his training, he also directed and performed a play. After that, he came to Tehran and formed the Homayoon group from 1373. His interest in composing Iranian music was another experience that Parnia learned himself with curiosity and interest.
